I am interested in both the connection and disconnection the individual feels to traditions, hopes, and expectations of previous generations. Washed out faded color conveys a sense of history, nostalgia, and quietness. Pastel, Rococo colors speak to innocence and a sense of hope. The layering of imagery and text obscures and conceals information, much like the clouding of ones own sense of memory. Through this layering, I am also speaking to the idea of vulnerability and a tension of opposites: wanting to reveal and wanting to hide.
